Lake City is a community of 5,000 people, and is situated along the shores of Lake Pepin, a natural widening of the Mississippi River. We are celebrated for being the “Birthplace of Water Skiing”, and home to the largest small-craft municipal harbor on the Mississippi. There are abundant year-round recreational opportunities including fishing, sailing, golfing, birding, hiking, biking, skiing, ice boating, and snowmobiling.
Lake City has a large manufacturing base, numerous dining establishments, specialty retail and service shops, and strong civic leadership. The Mayo Clinic Health System –Lake City offers world class medical facilities, and our Independent School District 813 provides an excellent educational foundation for the next generation.
