Estimator/Service Advisor
The primary responsibility for the Estimator/Service Advisor is to provide quality assistance and organization to the service area by estimating jobs and facilitating the procurement of materials. Utilize excellent communication with customers to ensure they are helped and service is performed in a timely manner to meet Midway Machining Inc. (MMI) standards.

  • Estimating and scheduling jobs based upon parts availability and needs.
  • Maintain pricing standards and inventory to ensure adequate inventory is available to meet sales objectives.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to establish contracts, terms of purchase, lead-times, blanket-orders, discounts and freight programs to derive best value for the company.
  • Manage purchase order confirmations and monitor expedited orders and vendor returns (RMA’s).
  • Evaluate and report lead-times and inform appropriate personnel of the Available to Promise (ATP) delivery dates.
  • Communicate with customers to inform them about their estimate, as well as any updates.
  • Support both suppliers and vendors with questions or discrepancies that may arise.
  • Locate part repairs for equipment in the shop.
  • Maintain and update shop material and supplies.
  • Utilize lean concepts to continuously improve service processes.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.
Minimum 2+ Years of service advising or compatible experience; Ability to read and interpret technical specifications; Technical knowledge of machining processing involving CNC mills, CNC lathes, and manual lathes; Excellent Communication (Verbal & Written); Attention to Detail; Customer Service Skills; Computer Knowledge; Motivated; Ability to Multi-task in a Fast-Paced Work Environment.
