Install Technician
Summary of Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility for the Install Technician is to provide service to Dakota Fluid Power customers in installation, repairs or maintenance of equipment and products. Provide positive and effective interaction with all Dakota Fluid Power customers. Commit and uphold the Dakota Fluid Power safety commitment in all actions and communications as it applies in our safety handbook and procedures.


Job Duties:
  • Knowledgeable of supplier & DFP forms, documents and procedures as used in maintaining accurate repair documentation and for all service work to be performed.
  • Follow specifications to install support equipment like hangers, brackets, pneumatic equipment and hydraulic cylinders.
  • Applying knowledge of system operations to select the most suitable pipe type and size.
  • Inspect and diagnose piping systems and machinery to detect machinery malfunctions.
  • Prior to starting work; inspect work area to ensure there are no obstructions to the pipe, proactively repair or modify the design if there are any holes or interferences.
  • Skilled at cutting pipes accurately using handheld and power tools.
  • Assembling and installing tubes, fittings, and non-metallic attachments.
  • Operating material movement machinery to lift pipes, and support equipment and heavy machinery.
  • Able to perform work at varying heights in or out of lift equipment.
  • Communicate with service managers for needs on tools, equipment and inventory.
  • Maintain a clean work area for safety and to expedite project completion.
  • Work with other to create a friendly, inviting and positive team environment.
  • Willingness to learning how to do cylinder repair, component repair and other service related projects.
  • Any other duties assigned by Senior Management.
Skills/Qualifications:
Ability to Read and Understand Blueprints; Knowledge of Compressed Air Systems, or Ability to be Trained; Capable of Multitasking and Managing Multiple Projects at Once; Strong Motivation and Ability to Work Independently; Detail-Oriented; Excellent Communication Skills (written & verbal), Basic Computer Skills or Ability to Learn for Record Keeping; Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis; Consistently use Arms & Legs with Full-Range of Motion; Frequent Stooping, Bending, Squatting & Kneeling; Exert Push & Pull Forces.
