Purchasing Manager
Summary of Responsibilities:
As a Purchasing Manager in the Fluid Power Industry, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the procurement processes related to fluid power components and systems. The role requires a combination of strategic thinking, strong negotiation skills, and in-depth knowledge of the fluid power sector. 

Job Duties:
  • Work with internal vendors (EPG, Y2K, etc..) to establish forecast and stocking requirements.
  • Meet with team and vendors to evaluate performance from both sides, create ways to improve relationships, grow revenue, improve discounts, freight terms and conditions.
  • Meet with Branch Managers quarterly to discuss current issues, new ideas, progress and inventory levels.
  • Help qualify new vendors and analyze products.
  • Manage offshore logistics resources.
  • Looks for ways to assist distribution in “spot buy” purchasing.
  • Looks for ways to assist manufacturing with their purchasing.
  • Manage inventory returns and obsolete inventory usage.
  • Coordinate with Inventory Control for warehouse space utilization.
  • Manage all open purchase order reports.
  • Assist with ways to help reduce inventory costs.
  • Analyze vendor spend and purchasing behavior, looks for areas of improvement.
  • Assist with uploading new price lists from suppliers.
  • Learn all purchasing processes within companies ERP system.
  • Backfill for team members when needed.
  • Responsible for team member performance evaluations and personal development
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business; Supply Chain Management; Engineering, or a Related Field; Master's Degree is a Plus; Proven experience in Purchasing and Procurement, with a focus on Fluid Power Components and Systems; Strong Negotiation, Communication, and Interpersonal Skills; In-depth Knowledge of the Fluid Power Industry; including Market Trends, Suppliers, and Technologies; Familiarity with ERP Systems and Procurement Software; Analytical and Strategic Thinking Abilities.
