Service Technician
Summary of Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities for the Service Technician is to provide service to Dakota Fluid Power customers in repairs, maintenance of vehicles, repairs, maintenance, refurbishing or rebuilding of equipment of products. The Service Technician must always exhibit positive and effective interaction with all DFP customers, associates and vendors.

Job Duties:
  • Commit and uphold the Dakota Fluid Power safety commitment in all actions and communications as it applies in our safety manuals and procedures.
  • Create and maintain accurate service and repair documents for all work to be performed.
  • Use and understand all documents, forms and procedures as they apply.
  • Diagnose issues with hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and compressed air systems.
  • Service and repair on-road, off-road mobile equipment and industrial fluid power systems.
  • Service and repair hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders and all other system components requiring attention.
  • Refurbish, rebuild and replace required components to restore equipment to required working condition.
  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks as the project requires.
  • Attend the required training programs on products, services and self-development programs offered by or through Dakota Fluid Power
  • Maintaining a clean work area for safety and to expedite project completion.
  • Able to work overtime, travel and work an occasional on-call shift.
  • Perform any and all other duties assigned by the management.

Skills/Qualifications:
Advance knowledge of troubleshooting, repair, and installation of hydraulics, compressed air and mechanical systems; proficient in basic hydraulic plumbing, welding and mechanical fabrication. Ability to read and understand hydraulic, electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics; ability to learn lathes, milling machines, drill presses, hydraulic press and similar equipment. Professional, superior customer service, strong motivation and ability to work independently, high level of integrity and ethical values, excellent communication skills (written and verbal), basic computer skills or ability to learn for record keeping, clean driving record, ability to lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis, consistently use arms and legs with full-range of motion, frequent stooping, bending, squatting and kneeling, exert push and pull forces.

Customer Service Representative (Hydraulic Parts Counter Sales)
Summary of Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility for the Customer Service Representative is to provide timely and professional customer service to Dakota Fluid Power customers, while also supporting DFP Sales through effective communication and excellent organization and time management skills.

Job Duties:
  • Answer all customer inquiries quickly and accurately in a positive manner
  • Create a friendly and inviting working environment
  • Responsible for assisting front counter customers including inspection of worn or damaged/defective parts, determine replacement parts, troubleshoot and research products and prices to best fit application
  • Maintain clean organized showroom and replenish stock product as needed
  • Generate quotes, enter orders, contact vendors, update records and track orders as necessary through the ERP system
  • Support Outside Sales and respond in a timely manner with price, availability, product specifications, order status and other information as required
  • Multitask on multiple projects at once
  • Achieve productivity and sales goals
  • Assist with mentoring and training new hires in the same department
  • Attend product training and seminars if available
  • Possibly work Saturdays as part of a rotation schedule

Mechanical Designer - OEM Division
Summary of Responsibilities:
Mechanical designer is responsible for developing, creating and documenting 2D and 3D drawings and other documentations to support efforts from sales through operations. Working within a team environment (customers, sales, other technical support personnel), this position performs and assists in the specification, design, sourcing and quoting of custom manifolds, reservoirs, and mechanical assemblies.

Job Duties:
  • Design and layout of custom manifolds for mobile and industrial applications
  • Design reservoirs and mechanical assemblies
  • Determine system design, component sizing, selection, and costing.
  • Develop electrical and hydraulic schematics including layout drawings.
  • Work closely with application sales, electrical, hydraulic system designers, and production personnel to develop solutions to customer and assist customer support when required.
  • Perform systems analysis and make suggestions for upgrades or modifications.
  • Create project manuals, BOMs, spare parts lists, and work instructions for production.
  • Maintain customer documentation in project files.
  • Provide support on first article builds.

Skills/Qualifications:

Outside Sales - OEM Division
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Outside Sales (Account Manager) is responsible for sales and margin growth as-well-as market penetration and market growth. Accountable for retention, development, customer satisfaction of both existing and new accounts, and for area coverage in a specified territory for our OEM Division.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
  • Increase sales of components, systems, and service capabilities within target accounts.
  • Identify and develop new markets and customers.
  • Must maintain good working relationship with Engineering, Purchasing, Management, and all aspects of the Customer.
  • Follow the DFP Professional Sales Growth Program and apply the sales strategy for continued growth.
  • Utilize the 5 stages of the sales process methodology to prospect, qualify, propose product/service plan, facilitate positive decisions, gain new accounts, and expand current accounts within the specified territory.
  • Maintain and Utilize Key Tools; Pipeline, Open Order Reports, Driving Logs, etc.
  • Recognize a need and promote DFP Division products and solutions to current and new customers.
  • Follow-up on all account activities to insure order accuracy and timelines of completion to customer satisfactions. Apprise supervisor when involved with resolving critical customer satisfaction issues.
  • Attend and participate in Vendor and DFP training and sales meetings.

Value Add
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary responsibility of the Value-Add position is to support the Branch Operations Manager in the daily activities needed to sustain the location. The Value-Add personnel will manufacture hoses and work on projects that require the assembly of components and systems. This position is crucial to maintaining the appearance, function, and efficiency of the branch.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Accurately assemble components and systems per prints, diagrams and schematics with little or no supervision.
  • Manufacture hoses per DFP assembly procedure and customer specifications.
  • Maintain hose assembly area according to DFP cleanliness standards. Keep hose ends stocked and dump hose barrel as needed.
  • Maintain the appearance of the DFP facility. May include snow removal, weed removal and garbage pick-up.
  • Assist shipping/receiving as necessary to ensure timely receipts of products, accurate shipping to internal/external customers, and inventory accuracy.
  • Organize and maintain the designated pallet area.
  • Make local part runs as necessary to assist the Sales and Service Departments.
  • Other duties assigned by Management.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Compressed Air Technical Services Manager
Location of this position is open to any of our branch locations or remotely for the right individual.

Summary of Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Compressed Air Technical Services Manager are to perform and assist in the specification, design, analysis, and quoting of compressed air systems, components, and piping. Includes, Compressors, blowers, dryers, drain management, piping systems, as well as all other associated pneumatic components. Fulfill the role of Product Manager for all DFP compressed air suppliers and DFP developed systems and services.

Job Duties:
  • Coordinate efforts of DFP Sales and Service Team to provide technical support for all compressed air applications.
  • Design systems, specify equipment and components, system layout, line sizing, etc.
  • Perform compressed air systems analysis and make suggestions for upgrades.
  • Assist in product and technical training for DFP customers and personnel on compressed air products.
  • Oversee the development and promotion of DFP airCARE Insight analysis services.
  • Attend Factory sales and service training as needed.
  • Collaborate with sales to meet customer expectations; including joint visit, prompt quoting, detailed proposals and reports, negotiation with customer on finalize engineering project specifications, while meeting corporate objectives and customer service expectations.
  • Coordinate with corporate purchasing to ensure the proper inventory levels; negotiate with vendors for special purchase agreements (SPA) to get the best business deals.
  • Work closely with Corporate on evaluation and development of Core Manufactures/Vendors relationships to ensure DFP and division are working toward same goals.
  • Communicate with senior management for Division level needs on tools, equipment, manpower and inventory.
  • Communicate with senior management on sales forecast and project pipeline of active opportunities.
  • Meet with Corporate as deemed necessary to stay relevant to company initiatives.
  • Any other duties assigned by Senior Management.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive Compressed air and/or Pneumatic background
  • Autocad or Solidworks experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of electrical and electronic systems related to compressed air equipment
  • Strong project management skills
